Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – The Federal Government of Somalia has participated in a high-level meeting organized by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
Somalia was represented by the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Abdulle. The meeting marked the official launch of a new five-year regional project focused on land governance, climate resilience, and sustainable food production.
The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation among IGAD member states in improving land management, promoting peace, and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers and pastoralist communities across the region.
Eng. Mohamed Hassan emphasized Somalia’s commitment to playing an active role in the implementation of the project, noting its importance for land governance, food security, and regional collaboration.
