Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA)-The Federal Republic of Somalia celebrated a landmark moment in its journey toward sustainable peace and development with the official launch of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS). The ceremony, held in Mogadishu, was led by Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, who attended as the guest of honor. The event marked the transition from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) to UNTMIS, symbolizing Somalia’s progress toward greater self-reliance and its enhanced role on the international stage.
