Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, alongside Italian Ambassador to Somalia, Amb. Pier Mario Docco Coppi, officially inaugurated the upgraded studios at Somali National Television (SNTV) today. This renovation is part of a larger initiative aimed at improving the country’s media infrastructure this year.
The modernization project seeks to elevate SNTV’s production capabilities to meet international standards, ensuring it effectively serves the Somali audience. Minister Daud Aweis noted that the upgraded news and program studios will greatly enhance the quality of information and entertainment provided to viewers nationwide.
He expressed deep appreciation to the Italian government for its unwavering support and collaboration in bringing this vital media development project to fruition.
Ambassador Docco Coppi remarked that these upgraded facilities mark a significant step forward in the transformation of Somalia’s national media landscape. He reiterated Italy’s commitment to partnering with Somalia to foster a robust and effective media sector that supports the nation’s growth and democratic dialogue.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to several dedicated staff members who played a crucial role in the project’s successful implementation.
With these enhancements, Somali National Television is poised to improve its performance and contribute to the ongoing development of the country’s media landscape.
