MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Federal Republic of Somalia has extended heartfelt congratulations to the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of its National Day, reaffirming the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, conveyed Somalia’s best wishes to the Government and people of China, praising the country’s remarkable progress over the past seven decades.
“I extend my warmest congratulations to the Government and people of the friendly People’s Republic of China on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Republic. This commemoration honors China’s enduring achievements and steadfast progress over the past seven decades,” said the Minister.
The statement underscored the deep-rooted ties between Somalia and China, highlighting mutual respect, solidarity, and partnership as the foundation of their relationship. “Somalia cherishes its long-standing friendship with China, anchored in mutual respect and shared aspirations, guided by a spirit of cooperation and understanding, reinforced by solidarity and partnership, and committed to promoting the common good of our two peoples,” the Minister affirmed.
Looking ahead, Somalia expressed its commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through stronger cooperation, joint projects, and shared efforts in peace, development, and prosperity.
“As China celebrates this momentous day, Somalia looks forward to working closely with the Chinese Government to strengthen bilateral ties, develop partnerships, advance collaborative projects, and jointly promote peace, development, and shared prosperity between our two beloved countries,” the statement concluded.
China marks its National Day annually on October 1st, commemorating the founding of the People’s Republic in 1949.
