Mogadishu,SONNA:-Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi met with Mr. James Swan in Mogadishu to discuss key areas of cooperation, focusing on regional relations, UNSC preparations, and strengthening business opportunities.
The discussions highlighted the Ankara Declaration, reaffirming Ethiopia’s respect for Somalia’s sovereignty and unity. Foreign Minister Fiqi emphasized the agreement’s role in fostering regional cooperation and creating mutually beneficial economic opportunities.
The two leaders also discussed Somalia’s preparations for engagement at the UNSC, including capacity-building programs for dedicated teams in Mogadishu and New York. Strengthening Somalia’s readiness for key agenda items remains a top priority.
Both sides explored leveraging regional agreements to unlock business and investment opportunities, promoting economic growth, trade, and job creation between Somalia and Ethiopia.
