Cairo, Egypt(SONNA)-Somalia’s Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and the Chief of the Somali National Army, Odowa Yusuf Rage participated in the EDEX 2025 International Defence Exhibition at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, where they held engagements focused on strengthening defence cooperation and exploring industrial partnerships.
The Somali delegation emphasized ongoing efforts to modernize the country’s defence sector, expand local capacity, and access advanced technologies through collaboration with international defence manufacturers. They praised Egypt’s successful organization of the exhibition and noted its growing importance as a platform for global defence dialogue, capability assessment, and technology exchange.
Both the Defence Minister and the Army Chief underscored the importance of continued expert-level visits and technical exchanges to identify priority areas for cooperation and support Somalia’s broader security sector development.
