MOGADISHU, Somalia – The 7th National Forum of Judges officially concluded today in Mogadishu, marking the end of high-level deliberations focused on strengthening the country’s legal infrastructure and addressing the critical challenges facing the administration of justice.

The significant gathering brought together a diverse assembly of stakeholders, including judges from various courts across the country, legal scholars, federal government officials, and representatives from civil society. The forum served as a vital platform for dialogue, fostering closer collaboration between the judiciary and the community it serves.

Over the course of the event, delegates engaged in rigorous discussions regarding the operational obstacles currently impeding the justice sector. The sessions focused heavily on identifying systemic hurdles and exploring strategic opportunities to implement comprehensive reforms. The ultimate objective of these discussions was to outline a roadmap for a more efficient, transparent, and independent judicial system capable of delivering equitable justice to all Somali citizens.

The closing ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Somalia, His Excellency Bashe Yusuf Ahmed.

In his concluding remarks, Chief Justice Ahmed commended the organizing committee for their excellence in facilitating the forum. He also extended his gratitude to the participating judges and legal experts for their valuable contributions and their unwavering dedication to the rule of law. The Chief Justice emphasized that the insights shared during the forum would be instrumental in guiding the future trajectory of Somalia’s judicial reforms.
