Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), today held a fruitful meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, H.E. Wang Yu, at his office.
Ambassador Wang Yu expressed his appreciation to Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe for his efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Somalia and China. He also commended the Speaker’s leadership of the House and praised the Parliament’s commitment to advancing key legislation critical to Somalia’s state-building process.
Highlighting the long-standing and deep-rooted ties between the two countries, Ambassador Wang emphasized that China’s relationship with Somalia is distinct and historic, noting that it continues to grow stronger and remains on a positive trajectory.
Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the enduring friendship between Somalia and China. He affirmed Somalia’s readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly at a time when relations between the two nations are thriving.
The Speaker also specifically praised the growing collaboration between the parliaments of both countries, underscoring the importance of enhancing and accelerating inter-parliamentary cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen regular collaboration and exchanges between the two parliaments, with a focus on sharing expertise and enhancing the skills and capacity of the staff of the House of the People.
