Mogadishu, SONNA – The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mahmud Ahmed Aden (Geesood), on Wednesday received the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, Alper Aktas, at his office in Mogadishu.
The meeting centered on enhancing trade relations, promoting investment opportunities, and expanding industrial cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye — two nations that continue to enjoy strong bilateral ties grounded in mutual development interests.
During the discussion, Minister Geesood emphasized the significance of effective economic collaboration in driving Somalia’s trade and industrial growth. He highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the business environment and attracting investment that supports national development priorities.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared goal of deepening economic cooperation and pledged to maintain regular dialogue to identify new opportunities for partnership in trade, industry, and investment sectors.
The meeting underscored the growing strategic partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, reflecting the two countries’ long-standing friendship and their common vision for economic progress and sustainable development.
