Jeddah, (SONNA) – The Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, today signed the 1447/2026 Hajj quota agreement with his Saudi counterpart, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, in Jeddah. Under the agreement, Somalia’s annual Hajj quota is set at 11,500 pilgrims.
The Somali delegation, led by Minister Robow, has been in Saudi Arabia participating in the annual Hajj and Umrah Services Exhibition, known as “Hajj Expo,” which gathers representatives from Muslim countries around the world to coordinate and enhance services for pilgrims.
Somalia was recognized among the top-performing countries in providing quality services to its pilgrims, achieving 4th place globally in the 2025 rankings. The country received special recognition and a dedicated pavilion to showcase the various services it offers to Somali pilgrims in preparation for the Hajj season.
