Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, today attended the meeting of the SJGAP Project Steering Committee, which marked the official launch of the project’s second phase in Mogadishu.
The Security and Justice, Governance and Accountability Project (SJGAP), funded by the European Union, supports the Ministries of Defence, Internal Security, and Justice and Constitutional Affairs in strengthening governance systems, accountability, and institutional capacity within the security and justice sectors.
Minister Fiqi noted that Phase II is vital for completing and operationalising earlier reforms, describing SJGAP as a model of effective partnership between the Federal Government and the European Union.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Ministers of Defence, Internal Security, and Justice and Constitutional Affairs, together with the EU Ambassador to Somalia, and attended by ministry officials, members of Parliament, and SJGAP project representatives.
