Mogadishu, (SONNA) – A large protest against Israel’s violation of the unity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia is currently underway at the Daljirka Dahsoon Monument in Mogadishu.
Hundreds of citizens, the majority of them women, have gathered at the monument to express their anger over what they described as Israel’s actions undermining Somalia’s unity. The demonstrators voiced strong condemnation of Israel’s move, stressing that Somalia is indivisible and will never accept any attempt to fragment the country.
Some of the protesters who spoke to the National Media said they fully stand with their government and are committed to defending the nation, firmly rejecting any infringement on Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
One of the women addressing the protest, Aasho Ali Aasho, said: “We will not retreat from our position. We reject Israel, and we will continue to reject it.”
Protests against Israel are reportedly growing, alongside increasing condemnation from governments and international organizations, which have emphasized that Somalia’s unity and sovereignty are inviolable and that Israel’s actions contravene international law.
