Ankara, SONNA – The Somali Students’ Association in Erzurum, Turkey, organized a warm welcome ceremony for four students who are among the more than 60 students receiving scholarships from Turkey this year. The chairman of the association, Mr. Abdirahman Mahmoud Sheikh Ali, provided a brief orientation to the new arrivals, sharing his own experiences as a student in Turkey.
The welcomed students expressed their gratitude for the warm reception they received in Erzurum. The Somali student community in Erzurum comprises both girls and boys pursuing various academic degrees, including bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs.
This event highlights the ongoing support and camaraderie among Somali students studying abroad and highlights the strong educational ties between Somalia and Turkey.
