Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Ali Mohamed Omar, received a courtesy visit on Sunday in his office at the Ministry in the capital city of Mogadishu, a delegation from the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) led by its Director, Brig. Gen. (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, and discussed with him enhancing cooperation, particularly in peace and security efforts within the region.
The meeting dealt with enhancing coordination between Somalia and EASF in peace support operations and capacity building efforts in line with regional security priorities and mutual cooperation.

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), formerly known as the Eastern Africa Standby Brigade (EASBRIG), is one of the five regional forces for Peace Support Operations (PSOs) within the African Standby Force (ASF). It includes military, police, and civilian components and functions as the regional operational arm of the African Peace and Security Architecture, which was established by the 2002 Protocol Relating to the Establishment of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union.
