Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartag), met with EU Ambassador to Somalia Karen Johanson on Thursday to discuss security cooperation.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening ties between Somalia and the EU, with discussions on the upcoming transition of the African Union Mission to Somalia (ATMIS), police training initiatives, legal development, and strategies for stabilizing recently liberated areas from the extremist group al-Shabaab.
Both parties committed to ongoing meetings to expedite the implementation of planned security activities.
