Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, who is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates today, Tuesday, met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Commander of the Armed Forces, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Emirates News Agency, during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of the two brotherly countries, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi expressed his appreciation for the position of the Somali federal government, which condemned the Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian sites in the UAE, wishing brotherly Somalia and its people all the best and progress.
On the other hand, the UAE welcomed the apology offered by Mohamed Hussein Roble, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, for the incident that occurred in April of 2018, and the confiscation of funds and aid provided by the UAE to support the Somali people upon their arrival at Mogadishu airport.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation explained that the initiative of His Excellency Roble reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, and in appreciation of the UAE’s purposeful role in supporting the Somali people and their government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also valued Roble’s initiative and the appreciation he showed to the UAE for its efforts towards his country over the decades.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s continued strengthening of historical relations with the brotherly Somali people, and its provision of all possible assistance to achieve peace, stability and development throughout the brotherly country.
Roble’s meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi comes within the framework of meetings he holds with senior Emirati officials during his official visit to the UAE, where he met on Monday, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who expressed his aspiration to start A new stage of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
