Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Chairperson of the National Organizing Committee for Independence Week, who also serves as the Minister of Interior, alongside the State Minister for Security, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, and other senior officials, attended a ceremony held on Sunday evening at the General Kaahiye Police Academy in Mogadishu.
The event was organized to recognize and reward Somali Police Force officers who played a key role in maintaining security across the capital during the nationwide celebrations marking Somalia’s Independence Week. The officers were also commended for their strong engagement with the public throughout the commemorative events.
