Somali Police Force Joins National Operation to Liberate Country from Khawarij

Mogadishu, SONNA – The Somali Police Force (SPF) has reaffirmed its commitment to nationwide security operations, extending beyond the capital to support the liberation of regions from Khawarij (rebel) groups.

Speaking during the weekly national media briefing, SPF Spokesperson Major Abdifatah Adan Hassan emphasized that the police are actively engaged in efforts to stabilize the country, working alongside regional and federal forces.

“The operations of the Somali Police Force are not limited to Mogadishu. We are part of the broader mission to free our nation from Khawarij groups,” Major Hassan stated. He highlighted that the police play a crucial role in maintaining security, particularly in areas under the administration of federal member states.

“The police force is at the forefront of this war, fully prepared to confront the enemies of the Somali people,” he added.

The spokesperson also reported successes in combating urban crimes, including theft, mobile phone snatching, and attacks on children. However, he stressed that the primary focus remains on eliminating the Khawarij threat to ensure long-term peace and stability.

The Somali government has intensified military operations against extremist groups in recent months, with security forces making gains in several regions. The police’s involvement shows a coordinated approach to restoring security across the country.

Authorities have urged the public to support security forces and report suspicious activities as operations continue.
