Mogadishu, SONNA – The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, alongside Deputy Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed (Kaniif), led a critical meeting this week with police commands and units to address key security challenges, including the fight against terrorism, coastal security, and improvements to police operations.

The meeting, held in Mogadishu, focused on strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the police force in combating the Khawarij and ensuring the safety and stability of Somali citizens. Brigadier General Asad commended the officers for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing the importance of their role in maintaining national security.

During the discussions, the Police Chief directed officers to strengthen security measures across the country, ensuring that Somali citizens can live in peace and stability, free from the threat of terrorism. He also highlighted the need for improved coordination among police units to address emerging security challenges, particularly in coastal areas, which are critical to Somalia’s economic and strategic interests.

The meeting highlighted the Somali Police Force’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and its people. Brigadier General Asad reiterated the importance of professionalism, vigilance, and community engagement in the fight against extremism. He called on officers to remain steadfast in their duties and to work closely with local communities to build trust and foster collaboration in maintaining security.

This high-level meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by Somali security forces, supported by international partners, to combat terrorism and stabilize the country. The Somali Police Force plays a vital role in these efforts, working alongside the National Army and other security agencies to protect civilians and restore peace.
