DJIBOUTI CITY, Djibouti – The Police Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, attended a significant graduation ceremony in Djibouti today, marking the completion of training for the 23rd batch of the Somali Police Darwish forces.

The event celebrated the readiness of the new officers, who have undergone rigorous training to strengthen Somalia’s national security apparatus. In his address to the graduates, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi commended their dedication and discipline throughout the training program. He emphasized the critical role the Darwish unit plays in stabilizing the country and combating terrorism.

“You are the shield of our nation,” the Police Commissioner stated. “The skills and discipline you have acquired here in Djibouti will be instrumental in our ongoing efforts to restore peace and order across Somalia.”

The ceremony was also attended by high-ranking officials from the Djiboutian government and security forces, reflecting the strong bilateral security cooperation between the two nations. Djibouti has been a steadfast partner in training and capacity building for Somalia’s armed forces, contributing significantly to the rebuilding of the country’s security institutions.

The newly graduated Darwish officers are expected to be deployed to various regions in Somalia, where they will join ongoing operations to secure liberated areas and protect civilian populations.
