Mogadishu, Somalia – Members of Parliament from both houses convened in Mogadishu to express their solidarity with Somali national and regional forces battling the Khawarij. During the meeting, lawmakers commended the ongoing military operations and vowed to stand firmly behind the troops. MP Abdalla Hussein emphasized the parliament’s support, stating, “As representatives of the people, we stand with our national forces and local communities in the fight to eliminate the Khawarij menace.”

MP Aden Mohamed Nur (Saransoor) struck an optimistic tone, declaring, “The Khawarij are in their final moments. The Somali nation must unite to ensure their defeat.” His remarks echoed growing confidence among officials that recent military gains signal the decline of extremist factions.

Adding to the statements, MP Ahmed Mashruq affirmed parliamentary backing for the armed forces and hinted at deeper involvement, saying, “We stand with our troops, and our side will actively participate in supporting these critical operations.”

The meeting shows the government’s push for a unified front against armed groups as security forces intensify offensives in various regions. The lawmakers’ statements come amid heightened military activity aimed at dismantling militant strongholds and restoring stability.
