Mogadishu, SONNA – Members of the House of the People of the Parliament of Somalia chaired by Second Deputy Speaker, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, have approved a resolution officially designating October 14 as National Remembrance Day, honoring the victims of terrorism in Somalia.
The motion, prepared by MP Mohamed Haruun Abdullahi, presented the earlier deliberations among lawmakers.
During the final vote, 137 MPs voted in favor, two opposed, and one abstained, formally adopting the resolution to commemorate the victims of the October 14, 2017 Mogadishu bombing, the deadliest terrorist attack in Somalia’s history.
