Mogadishu (SONNA) — Members of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia approved the Tobacco Control Framework, with overwhelming support from lawmakers.
A total of 139 Members of Parliament voted in favor of the agreement, three lawmakers abstained, and none voted against it.
The approval marks a significant step toward strengthening public health policies in Somalia by regulating tobacco use and mitigating its harmful social and health impacts.
