Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali National Army (SNA) achieved a significant victory this afternoon following a special operation targeting militant strongholds in Garas Xabad, Mooro-Bus, and Idinta — areas along the road connecting Waajid and Bardaale districts in Bay region.
The operation specifically targeted critical bases used by the extremist group to recruit underage fighters and extort illegal taxes from local residents. SNA forces bravely dismantled these enemy positions, disrupting plans aimed at terrorizing the Somali people.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Nur (Ahmed Dhagey), commander of the 47th Battalion under the 8th Brigade of the SNA’s 60th Division, confirmed that troops successfully secured the areas, ensuring the safety of the local communities.
