Lower (SONNA) – Somali National Army (SNA) troops, in coordination with Jubbaland Darawish forces, carried out a planned military operation early this morning in areas of the Lower Juba region.
The operation targeted underground hideouts used by Al-Shabaab militants, including senior members who were reportedly preparing attacks intended to disrupt public safety.
Security forces successfully destroyed vehicles rigged with explosives as well as several concealed bunkers used by the militants.
Military sources confirmed that the operation was part of sustained efforts to eliminate extremist elements and reinforce security across Jubbaland.
