Somali National Army and Local Forces Strike the Khawaarij in Middle Shabelle

Bursha Sheikh, Middle Shabelle, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA) and local forces have dealt a significant blow to the Khawaarij in the Bursha Sheikh area of the Middle Shabelle region. The ongoing operation aims to dismantle the group’s presence and restore stability to the area.

The operation, which has been met with widespread support from local residents, saw the Khawaarij suffer heavy losses. The group had reportedly dug large holes in the area to use as shelters, but their plans were thwarted by the swift and decisive actions of the SNA and local forces. The collaboration between the military and the community has been instrumental in denying the Khawaarij any refuge or opportunity to regroup.

In a show of solidarity and gratitude, local residents welcomed the SNA and local forces by offering them two camels as a gesture of support. This act was intended to boost the morale of the troops on the frontlines, highlighting the strong bond between the military and the communities they protect.

The SNA has confirmed that the operation is ongoing, with forces actively pursuing the remaining Khawaarij elements in the area. The military has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to ensure the complete eradication of the group’s influence.

This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to stabilize the Middle Shabelle region and emphasizes the importance of collaboration between security forces and local communities in the fight against extremism.
