Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA), in collaboration with local forces, carried out a night operation against Al-Shabaab militants in the forested areas between Cali-Heelle and Ciid-Kuus in Galgaduud region.
During the operation, the troops destroyed militant bases that had recently been established in the area. Military officials leading the operation confirmed that dozens of Al-Shabaab fighters were killed.
The 77th Battalion of the SNA, working jointly with community forces, successfully overran all Al-Shabaab positions in Cali-Heelle and Ciid-Kuus, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.
