Lower Juba, SONNA – In a significant blow to the Kharijites group, the Somali National Army (SNA), in coordination with Jubbaland’s Dervish forces, conducted a successful joint operation near the Bulo-Haji area of Lower Juba. The well-planned operation resulted in the elimination of more than 25 militants, including senior figures within the group’s leadership.
The operation targeted key militant positions, disrupting a network that had long been responsible for terrorizing local communities in the region. Among those neutralized were several high-ranking operatives considered vital to the group’s coordination and field command.
In addition to the militant casualties, Somali forces destroyed multiple enemy bases and military vehicles, further weakening the group’s operational capacity in Lower Juba. The targeted infrastructure had been used to launch attacks and impose control over local residents.
Military officials praised the professionalism and coordination demonstrated by both the SNA and Jubbaland’s regional forces, calling the mission a strategic success in the broader campaign to restore peace and security across southern Somalia.
Security operations against the Kharijites group continue to intensify across the country, as the Federal Government of Somalia strengthens its efforts to eliminate extremism and protect civilians from insurgent threats.
