Mogadishu, SONNA – High-ranking officials from the Government of Somalia, including the Minister of Petroleum Abdirasaq Omar Mohamed and the Minister of Defense Abdiqadir Mohamed Noor, warmly welcomed a delegation from Turkey at Aden Adde International Airport today. The Turkish delegation was led by the Minister of Energy and Resources, Al-Bashaan Bayraq, along with other key officials.
This visit marks a significant milestone as the Turkish delegation is in Mogadishu to participate in the ceremony marking the operation of an oil exploration ship currently docked at the port of Mogadishu. The collaboration between Somalia and Turkey in this sector underscores the strengthening ties and mutual interests in advancing energy exploration and development.
Yesterday, an introductory delegation led by Turkish Deputy Defense Minister Musa Heylad and Turkish Petroleum Manager Ahmed Tuglo also arrived in Somalia. This visit lays the groundwork for deeper cooperation and highlights Turkey’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s energy initiatives.
