Nairobi, Kenya (SONNA) – Somalia’s Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing, Dr. Cilmi Maxamuud Nuur, accompanied by Somalia’s Ambassador to Nairobi, participated in the second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly currently underway in Nairobi.
The Assembly, a global gathering convened every four years, is focused on discussing UN-Habitat’s strategic plan for the next three years. A key agenda item for the conference is the election of the leadership and Executive Council of UN-Habitat.
Minister Dr. Ilmi Mohamoud Nor is actively engaging in the proceedings with the aim of securing Somalia’s membership in both the Executive Council and the senior leadership of UN-Habitat. This move is intended to position Somalia to better leverage the development opportunities offered by the United Nations agency.
