Algiers, SONNA – The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mahmud Ahmed Aden (Geesood), along with the Federal Government of Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego), held an important meeting with Algeria’s Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, H.E. Tayyib Zitoni. The meeting took place during the 4th African Trade Fair, held from September 4-10, 2025.
The discussions between the two parties focused on strengthening bilateral relations and opening up new opportunities for trade and investment between Somalia and Algeria. The ministers engaged in a productive dialogue centered on mutual economic benefits and deepening the bonds between the two brotherly nations.
Both sides reached an agreement on the importance of expanding cooperation in key sectors, sharing valuable expertise, and fostering commercial exchange. These collaborative efforts are aimed at solidifying the economic relationship between the peoples of Somalia and Algeria.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to developing a robust framework for partnership, which is expected to facilitate growth in bilateral trade and encourage investment in various sectors. The ministers concluded the discussion with a positive outlook on future collaborations, emphasizing the mutual benefits that such a partnership would bring to both countries.
