Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – Mr. Mustafa Sheikh Ali Dhuhulow, Director General of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency, met with Mr. Alper Aktaş, Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, at his office. This high-level dialogue indicates the enduring partnership between Somalia and Turkey, and explored new avenues for collaboration.

Director General Dhuhulow expressed deep gratitude to the Turkish Government for its support in the nation-building efforts of Somalia. He emphasized the critical need to facilitate immigration services for Somali citizens traveling to Turkey, and highlighted the value of sharing best practices and providing training to enhance the skills of Somali immigration officers.

“We are immensely appreciative of Turkey’s continuous support. This cooperation is essential for our efforts to streamline immigration processes and improve services for our citizens,” Mr. Dhuhulow stated.

Ambassador Alper Aktaş reciprocated the appreciation, acknowledging the warm reception and productive discussions. He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations’ immigration agencies.

“Establishing ongoing cooperation between our immigration agencies is vital. It will not only improve the efficiency of our services but also fortify the bonds between our countries,” Ambassador Aktaş remarked.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to continue their collaboration, focusing on initiatives that will benefit the citizens of both nations. This engagement is a testament to the strong diplomatic ties between Somalia and Turkey, and their shared vision for a future of enhanced cooperation and mutual development.
