Geneva, Switzerland – Dr. Ali Haji Adam, Somalia’s Minister of Health and Social Welfare, is currently participating in the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78), where he addressed a key conference focusing on the treatment of cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic diseases.
In his address to the global health forum, Minister Adam emphasized the critical importance of preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs). He highlighted that these diseases pose a growing health challenge both in Somalia and across the globe.
The Minister reaffirmed the Somali Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s commitment to bolstering the nation’s healthcare system. This strategic focus aims to ensure the provision of timely treatment and foster a sustainable healthcare infrastructure for all Somalis. The ministry is dedicated to tackling the rising burden of NCDs through proactive prevention strategies and enhanced medical care.
