Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah (Benebene), officially launched a consultative meeting aimed at promoting the national census here in Mogadishu today, Sunday.
Today, I presided over a consultative meeting focused on the government’s commitment to conducting a population and housing census, which is envisioned to play a significant role in the country’s development. Minster Benebene said
The Minister emphasized the importance of conducting a census in order to properly understand the size of the Somali population and plan the delivery of government services.
The conference was attended by the Planning Ministers of the federal member states from Galmudug,Hirshabelle, Southwest, and Jubaland, as well as the head of UNFPA Somalia.
The Minister encouraged the FMS ministers to actively participate in the census.
Finally, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Director General of the National Statistics Agency, Sharmarke Farah, Deputy Director General Abdirahman Omar Dahir, and all the dedicated staff of the agency for their hard work in serving the nation.
This conference marks a crucial step towards a brighter future for Somalia as the country moves forward with its plans for growth and development.
