Baghdad, Iraq – On the margins of the Arab League Foreign Ministers’ Conference in Baghdad, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, engaged in a series of important bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Yemen, Algeria, and Djibouti. These discussions reflect Somalia’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic ties and fostering cooperation within the Arab world.
In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, Minister Abdisalam emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly relations and shared history between Somalia and Yemen. The two ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation and launch effective programs to support the development of both nations. Minister Abdisalan expressed Somalia’s keen interest in strengthening these ties and supporting joint initiatives. Minister Al-Zindani reciprocated by congratulating Minister Abdisalam on his new appointment and expressing Yemen’s commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and expanding multilateral cooperation.
Minister Abdisalam also held productive meetings with the Foreign Ministers of the Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Republic of Djibouti. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for cooperation in various fields, including politics, security, economy, and social affairs. Furthermore, the Foreign Ministers of Algeria and Djibouti reiterated their countries’ support for the Federal Government of Somalia’s efforts towards achieving stability and development within the country.
