Istanbul, (SONNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the friendly Republic of Uganda, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, on Sunday in Istanbul, Türkiye, on the sidelines of the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and discussed with him ways to deepen diplomatic ties, enhance regional cooperation, and coordinate efforts on key issues affecting the Horn of Africa and East Africa.
The two ministers discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of regional stability through collective efforts and highlighted the critical role of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) in supporting peacebuilding state authority and long-term security.
