Doha, Qatar, (SONNA) The Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Elmi Mohamud Nur, met with Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, the Minister of Finance of Qatar, in Doha on Monday. They discussed the economic development of Somalia and the progress of its debt relief program.
The Ministers looked into measures to improve their nations’ economic cooperation. In a statement, Minister Nur said: “I had a productive discussion with my Qatari counterpart today in Doha. One of the numerous topics we covered about Somalia’s economic growth was the proposal to overhaul the country’s financial system and increase economic ties between Somalia and Qatar.”
Qatar applauded Somalia’s financial reforms and its attempts to eliminate its debt.
