Ankara, SONNA – The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Turkey has issued a public notice to Somali citizens currently residing in Iran, offering assistance to those who wish to leave the country due to the ongoing conflict. The Embassy is coordinating efforts to ensure the safe return of Somali nationals seeking repatriation.
In an official statement, the Embassy urged all Somali citizens in Iran who wish to return home to make immediate contact with the diplomatic mission for support.
“The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Turkey informs Somali citizens in Iran who wish to leave the country due to the ongoing fighting there to contact the embassy for assistance in returning to their country safely,” the statement read.
This development comes amid heightened concerns over the security situation in Iran, prompting Somali authorities to take precautionary steps to safeguard their citizens abroad.
The Embassy is working in coordination with relevant institutions to facilitate the necessary arrangements for those who register their interest in leaving. Somali nationals in Iran are encouraged to provide up-to-date contact details and travel documents to expedite the process.
The Federal Government of Somalia reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad and thanked host countries and partners for their cooperation during times of crisis.
