Mogadishu, Somalia – The Commissioner of the Disaster Management Agency, Mr. Mahmoud Ma’allin Abdulle, expressed his deep sorrow and condolences over the passing of Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur, a prominent traditional leader and peace advocate. Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur, who dedicated his life to fostering peace and state-building in Somalia, passed away recently in Mogadishu, leaving behind a legacy of unity and resilience.

Commissioner Abdulle paid his respects during the funeral proceedings, where he signed the funeral book and offered prayers for the deceased. In a brief but poignant statement, the Commissioner highlighted Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur’s commitment to peace and his tireless efforts to rebuild the Somali nation.

Ugaas Abdi-Dahir Ugaas Nur was widely respected as a traditional leader who played an important role in mediating conflicts and promoting reconciliation among Somali clans. His efforts were instrumental in bridging divides and fostering a sense of national unity during some of the country’s most challenging periods. His work extended beyond traditional leadership, as he actively contributed to state-building initiatives, advocating for governance structures that reflected the needs and aspirations of the Somali people.

The funeral, attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and citizens from across the country, was a prove to the profound impact Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur had on Somali society. Many mourners shared stories of his wisdom, humility, and dedication to the betterment of his people.

As Somalia continues its journey toward peace and stability, the loss of such a visionary leader is deeply felt. However, the principles and values Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur championed will undoubtedly endure, serving as a guiding light for future generations.

The Somali government, along with civil society organizations and international partners, has expressed its commitment to honoring his legacy by redoubling efforts to achieve lasting peace and development in the region.

Ugaas Abdi-Daahir Ugaas Nur’s passing marks the end of an era, but his contributions to Somali society will remain etched in the nation’s history. As the country mourns, it also celebrates the life of a man who dedicated himself to the service of his people and the pursuit of a brighter future for Somalia.
