Riyadh – The Somali delegation to the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held a special ceremony today to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s Independence and National Unity.
The event was attended by representatives of IMCTC member states. During the ceremony, General Abdirahman Mohamed Tuuryare, Head of the Somali Delegation, received a formal congratulatory message from IMCTC Secretary-General, General Mohammed Saeed Al-Moghedi.
In his address, General Tuuryare highlighted the progress of the Somali National Army (SNA) and its growing role in contributing to stability across the Islamic world, particularly in counter-terrorism efforts.
The celebration also featured a documentary film showcasing Somalia’s rich history, culture, and recent achievements in state-building and combating terrorism.
