Dar es Salaam, (SONNA) – A high-level Somali delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, arrived in Tanzania this afternoon for an official working visit. The delegation includes the Minister of Livestock, Forestry and Range, H.E. Hassan Hussein Mohamed (Eelay), alongside other senior officials.
The Somali delegation received a warm welcome from officials of Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Tanzania, H.E. Ilyas Ali Hassan.
The visit’s primary agenda includes the official inauguration of the newly renovated and fully equipped Somali Embassy in Dar es Salaam. The embassy has undergone a significant upgrade in infrastructure and facilities, marking a milestone in Somalia’s diplomatic presence in the region.
In addition, the Somali officials will participate in the 65th Independence Day celebrations of the United Republic of Tanzania, reaffirming the strong historical and brotherly ties between the two nations.
During their stay, the ministers are expected to hold bilateral meetings with their Tanzanian counterparts, focusing on strengthening diplomatic relations, enhancing development cooperation, and facilitating the free movement of citizens between the two countries.
This visit underscores Somalia’s continued commitment to regional engagement and international cooperation.
