Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali Minister of Defense, the Honorable Ahmed Moalin Fiqi, led a Somali delegation at the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, a major international defense event in China. The forum, which opened at the Beijing International Convention Center under the theme “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,” provided a platform for Somalia to showcase its growing role in global security matters.
Minister Fiqi’s participation in the high-level forum aligns with the “Dan-Qaran Government’s Performance Exhibition (2022-2025)” narrative, which highlights Somalia’s renewed engagement on the international stage. As a member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Somalia is actively committed to contributing to world peace and stability. The Minister’s presence among defense leaders from over 100 countries demonstrates the Federal Government of Somalia’s determination to forge strong diplomatic ties and participate in critical global conversations.
In a statement, the Minister highlighted Somalia’s dedication to its role in the UNSC and its broader foreign policy objectives. His participation in the forum, which was also attended by the Somali Ambassador to China, Dr. Hodan Osman, reinforces the government’s focus on international cooperation as a key component of its national security and foreign policy agenda.
