Mogadishu: Somali National Army’s elite forces (Danab) on Sunday destroyed Al-Shabaab militants’ network and arrested some members after conducting operation in several location in Bay region in southwest State Somalia, SONNA reported.

The forces conducted the operation in areas of Bur-heybe, Jira-kulow, Durdurow, Sahweyne and Yaqdoma about 30 kilometers to Burhakaba town in the same region according to the officials.

“We have destroyed Al-Shabaab militants’ network in Bay region, arrested some members and recovered weapons during operation that we conducted into several locations in this region”, an official told SONNA

Earlier, Somali Commandos backed by the U.S forces destroyed Al-Shabaab radio stations in Sakow and Kunya Barow on December 24, 2020 and January 1, 2021 according to the Somali Army officials and International Partners.
