MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia has announced the formation of a special committee to investigate the alleged links between Ahmed Madobe and the extremist group Khawarij. This decision follows a recent attack on a Somali National Army post in the Raskambooni area, reportedly orchestrated by Madobe.
During the cabinet’s regular weekly meeting, the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Abdirahman Sheikh Yusuf (Al-Adaala), briefed the media on this critical development. He conveyed the cabinet’s strong condemnation of the attack, describing it as a deeply regrettable act that undermines national security and unity. “This attack will not go unaddressed,” Minister Al-Adaala asserted, emphasizing that there will be significant consequences and accountability for those involved.
The committee’s mandate includes a thorough investigation into the nature of the alleged connections between Ahmed Madobe and Khawarij groups. The objective is to uncover the extent of these links and ensure that those responsible for any acts of violence are held accountable under Somali law.
The Federal Government’s action emphasizes its commitment to maintaining stability and security in the region, and its determination to root out extremist influences that threaten the nation’s peace. The investigation is expected to provide critical insights and guide future actions to safeguard Somalia’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
