Mogadishu, SONNA – The Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia has approved the appointment of Mr. Abdirahman Syed Ahmed as the new Deputy Director of the Agency for Identification and Public Registration. This decision was made during the council’s weekly meeting, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Salah Ahmed Jama.
The proposal for Mr. Ahmed’s appointment was put forward by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation. Alongside this appointment, the council also ratified an agreement on economic cooperation and development between Somalia and the People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, various reports were presented, including updates on security, the process of issuing driving licenses, and the implementation of a recently passed sales tax resolution. These discussions reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and economic growth.
