Mogadishu – The Somali Cabinet, chaired by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has approved the promotion of Guled Warsame Roti as the new Consul General.
His new role as Consul General is seen as a continuation of Somalia’s efforts to expand its diplomatic presence and deepen international partnerships.
The appointment underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing Somalia’s representation abroad, while also recognizing Warsame’s experience in advancing the country’s diplomatic interests.
Mr. Guled has recently been appointed as the Consul General and Head of Mission of the Consulate General of Somalia in Melbourne, Australia.
Mr. Warsame previously served at several Somali Embassies including Iraq, Algeria, Turkey, and the People’s Republic of China.
