Mogadishu, SONNA – Somali National Security Forces conducted a successful operation against al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Jubba region,.
The operation targeted several areas where the terrorist group had established bases and harassed the local population. The areas included Yaaq-Halul, Qod-Qod, Beer-Hani, and Quddus.
Major Arab Dheeg Ahmed, who led the operation, told the Somali National News Agency (SONNA) that the army destroyed the positions of the terrorists and cleared the areas of any threat.
He said that the operation was part of the ongoing efforts to eliminate al-Shabaab from the country and restore peace and stability.
