KINSHASA (SONNA) – Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community (EAC), Ilyas Ali Hassan, arrived today in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Ambassador Ilyas, who also serves as the non-resident ambassador to five countries including the DRC, is leading a high-level delegation on a working visit scheduled to last several days.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at N’djili International Airport by officials from the DRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the Somali community residing in Kinshasa.
Ambassador Ilyas expressed his gratitude to the officials and the Somali diaspora for the reception. He stated that during his time in Kinshasa, he will assess the situation of Somali citizens and work on facilitating the essential services they require. This visit highlights Somalia’s commitment to strengthening ties and supporting its citizens across the region.
