Somali Ambassador Presents Credentials to Ethiopian President, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Addis Ababa, October 5, 2023 – In a significant diplomatic event, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Ethiopia, Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa, officially presented his credentials to the President of Ethiopia, Sahle Work Zewde. The historic ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Addis Ababa, marking a pivotal moment in the relationship between the two nations.

Dignitaries and diplomats gathered to witness this momentous occasion, extending a warm welcome to Ambassador Warfa and his accompanying delegation. The event served as a symbol of the strong bonds shared by Somalia and Ethiopia.

During the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Warfa conveyed his nation’s commitment to fostering closer ties and cooperation between Somalia and Ethiopia. President Zewde graciously accepted the credentials, reaffirming Ethiopia’s dedication to strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

Following the official ceremony, Ambassador Warfa and President Zewde engaged in a vital meeting to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation. Both leaders expressed their mutual desire to enhance economic, political, and social collaboration, as well as to address regional challenges collectively.

The meeting also touched upon key regional issues, including security and stability in the Horn of Africa. Ambassador Warfa and President Zewde reiterated their countries’ commitment to working together to promote peace and prosperity in the region.

This significant diplomatic milestone underscores the growing importance of the relationship between Somalia and Ethiopia. As both nations continue to expand their cooperation in various fields, the future holds promise for strengthened ties that will benefit not only their citizens but also the broader region.
