KARACHI, (SONNA) – The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Pakistan, H.E. Sheikhnur Mohamed Hassan, alongside the Commander of the Somali Navy and Coast Guard, General Abdiwahab Abdullahi Omar, attended the opening of the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025) held in Karachi.
During the event, Ambassador Sheikhnur and General Abdiwahab held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Chief of the Pakistan Navy, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, HI(M). The discussions focused on strengthening maritime cooperation between the two nations, including naval training and capacity building, coastal security, safeguarding international sea lanes, and exploring opportunities within the blue economy showcased at PIMEC 2025.
Ambassador Sheikhnur expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Navy for their warm hospitality and continued support to the Somali delegation throughout the conference.
